In the Meadow

I know I promised samples using new product this past week, but life got in the way. So, here's the first one.
The stamp set is called In the Meadow. I love that it's male oriented and you can build a scene. Colors aren't great in this pic, but the base is Soft Sky with a layer of Basic Black. The image was stamped on watercolor paper. I forgot to take a pic of the inside, but I used a new thinlit that makes pop outs.

Thanks for stopping by today. Until next time....HAPPY STAMPING!

WOOHOO, Stampin' Up! Listened

This information was conveyed to all demonstrators today:

The Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (item 139673) has been so popular that we are going to do something that we don't normally do: we've decided to bring it back in the 2016 annual catalog!  While bringing an item out of retirement is not something we generally do, we just couldn't ignore the fact that so many of you, loved this embossing folder!

So, for those of you who wanted it and didn't get it...have some patience. You will be able to purchase it when the new annual catalog goes live in July.

Thanks for stopping by today. Until next time...HAPPY STAMPING!

Never Forget!

Please take a few minutes today and remember ALL of our veterans, but especially those who lost their lives in Pearl Harbor and in the wars prior and since.

Tuesday, December 1, 2015

Welcome December!

WOW! I can't believe that it's December already. I will not be posting on a regular basis this month as I have many things that I am working on. But, I did want everyone to know how much I appreciate you and how thankful I am that you are in my life, in real life or virtually.

I also want you to know that I offer Gift Certificates for the holidays. You can purchase one for a stampin' buddy or have someone purchase one for you. They are however, only redeemable through me, not another demo or Stampin' Up! directly.

If you have a wish list that you have been chipping away at since the new catalog came out, give it to those who will be purchasing gifts for you and give them my contact information so that you can get those stamping things that you want for the holidays. You can let those people know that I also offer wrapping services. The order will be shipped to me, I'll wrap and add a handmade tag and your holidays are in the bag!

Thanks for stopping by today. Until the next time....HAPPY STAMPING!

Isn't this the cutest? This is a birthday card for my niece. She loves snowmen, so I used the one from the Snow People set. The sentiment and the party hat are from the retired set, Party Hearty. I also used the Triple Corner Punch and the Lots of Labels Framelits. I hope she liked it. Thanks for stopping by today. See you next week. Until then...HAPPY STAMPING!

3-D Thursday

Welcome to this week's 3-D Thursday.
This is a Post it Note holder that was made by my friend Dawn Bristlin. It uses the retired stamp set Scentsational Season with the matching Framelits. Don't know if you can tell from the picture, but the mug and steam have been covered with Crystal Effects. It's just beautiful IRL. Thanks for stopping by today. Come back tomorrow for Festive Friday. Until then...HAPPY STAMPING!

MANic Monday

Welcome to this week's MANic Monday.
This card uses the 'brayer the embossing folder' technique. This picture doesn't show very well, but I brayered the embossing folder with Crumb Cake ink and then used my Crumb Cake marker to enhance the bark of the trees. I also stamped the little deer from the retired set Forest Friends. The card base is Mossy Meadow. Hope that you liked today's card. Stop back tomorrow for TWO-fer Tuesday. Until then....HAPPY STAMPING!

This is a cute little box that was a part of the August Paper Pumpkin kit., called Chalk It Up to Love.  The refill kit (without the stamp set) is available in my online store. Cost is $8.00. I intend to use some of the boxes for 'treats' at Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by today. Come back tomorrow for Festive Friday. Until then...HAPPY STAMPING!

Two-Fer Tuesday

Welcome to Two-Fer Tuesday.
These two cards are from the You're Presents stamp set. The top one also includes Happy Birthday from Age Awareness. I love this set for it's versatility. The birthday card is so 'festive' with the sequins. And the Joy card is so holiday with the colors of Mint Macaron and Cucumber Crush. The words are stamped with the new Basic Black Archival Ink. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.
Thanks for stopping by today. Come back tomorrow for Way Back Wednesday. Until then...HAPPY STAMPING!

MANic Monday

Welcome to another MANic Monday!
This is definitely a classic! Card stock is Crumb Cake, Basic Black and Cajun Craze. Sorry I don't remember where the DSP came from. The stamp set is Guy Greetings. The brads are from the Mini Brads. Don't you just love the vintage feel of this?

Thanks for stopping by today, come back tomorrow for Two-fer Tuesday. Until then...HAPPY STAMPING!

Festive Friday

Welcome to Festive Friday, where you will find a card that will highlight an upcoming holiday or another upcoming occasion.
This is a birthday card using the Butterfies Thinlits and the retired Wonderful Wings Embosslits. The butterflies on the bottom are cut from parchment paper and make for an airy look. The words are from the Endless Birthday Set. I used Sharpies to color the rhinestones.
Thank you for stopping by today. Until the next time...HAPPY STAMPING!

3-D Thursday

Welcome to 3-D Thursday, where I will share a 3-D item.
This is a paper bag treat from the September Paper Pumpkin kit. Don't you just love it? I think it is so cute. Paper Pumpkin kits come with everything you need to make that month's project (except adhesive). This one included the paper bags, the fringies (is that a word?), the die cut tags, the straws and the stamp set. There was enough product to make 8 of these cute little bags. We don't get any Trick or Treaters, but we did have a 4 year old move onto our road about 3 months ago, so he got this treat for Halloween.

Thanks for stopping by today. Tomorrow will be Festive Friday, so check back. Until then...HAPPY STAMPING!

Way Back Wednesday

Welcome to Way Back Wednesday where I take a retired stamp set and use it with current product. I don't know about you, but I purchase new 'toys' and then seem to use only the new things until they retire, then they end up on my 'retired' shelf and I very rarely go back to them. I LOVED them when I purchased them, but...
These are some Christmas tags that I made using some retired stamps along with current stamps and products. The Joy tag on the left uses some retired Washi tape, a doily, and the word Joy and Oval from the retired Joyous Season set. I used the Ornate Tag Topper Punch and the Banners Framelits to create the tag. The tag in the middle uses the Festive Flurry retired set, the Snow Place current set and the Triple Corner punch. The tag on the right uses the Triple Corner punch, the snowman is from the retired set Best of Snow. The words are from Petite Pairs.

I hope that you enjoyed this Way Back Wednesday. Be sure to stop by tomorrow for 3-D Thursday. Until then...HAPPY STAMPING!

Two-Fer Tuesday

Welcome to Two-Fer Tuesday. These two cards are totally different, yet they use the same stamp set, You've Got This and the same In Color, Mint Macaron.  The one on the left has a Mint Macaron base, a Whisper White layer with the background stamped in Mint Macron. It also has 1/8" Silver ribbon. The one on the right uses a Basic Black base, a Mint Macaron layer. The Whisper White layer uses Sahara Sand for the background and the 1 1/4" Burlap ribbon. To me, the one on the left is more feminine and the one on the left could be masculine. What do you think?
Thanks for stopping by today. Don't forget to stop by tomorrow for Way Back Wednesday. Until then, HAPPY STAMPING!

MANic Monday

It's MANic Monday! This card uses the stamp set Wetlands. I love that the goose is the focal point. And the clean black and white color scheme just makes it more interesting! You could change the sentiment for just about any occasion. And, if you changed the colors, it could also be a feminine card. So, what do you think? Are you ready to start stamping cards for the men in your life?
Thanks for stopping by today. Check back tomorrow for the Two-Fer Tuesday. Until next time, HAPPY STAMPING!

New Schedule and a Promo

I am going to attempt to start the new posting schedule on Monday, November 2.  See previous post to see what themes will be used for posting each week day. The one caveat is that I have jury duty the entire month of November, so I will post when I can. It's a one hour drive to our county seat to report, so I'm hoping that I don't have to go in very often (if at all).

I am also announcing a Stampin' In The Sticks promotion. I will be celebrating my 10 year anniversary with Stampin' Up! on November 22, so I want to thank you by doing the following: for every $50 (before shipping & tax), spent in the month of November, I will take 10% off your total.  You will have to place your order directly with me (via phone or email) to take advantage of this promo you CANNOT place through my online store and get the discount.

I am also close to a milestone in sales: $50,000. If I reach that milestone prior to the end of the year, everyone who places an order between now and December 31 will get a FREE GIFT from me.

New Posting Schedule

As I said before, I am going to change the way I post to this blog to attempt to make it more interesting and informative for all who visit. I want to give each day of the week a theme. So far, I have decided on the following themes:

MANic Monday - masculine card samples...we all can use more of those, right?

Two-fer Tuesday - 2 samples that use the same stamp set, but a different layout or color scheme.

Way Back Wednesday - using retired stamp sets with current product.

3-D Thursday - a new 3D item each week.

Festive Friday - a sample that pays homage to an upcoming holiday or a birthday card.

Please let me know if you think these themes are of interest to you or give me some ideas of what you'd like to see.

Now that the recipients have received their cards, I'm going to share the cards I made for October birthdays. They are very similar, yet different. Both use the Pansy Punch and the Flower Shop stamp set.
This card also uses the Birthday Blossoms stamp set.
This card uses some butterflies and a couple of embossing folders.
Thanks for stopping by today. Until next time...HAPPY STAMPING!

Tag It! Class & Envelope Punch Board

Just a quick shout out to all who attended my Tag It! class on Saturday, Sept. 19.  It was so much fun! These are the cute little 'treats' that I made.
They are made with the Envelope Punch Board. I used some retired DSP I had and the buttons and ribbon were from SAB.

For those who expressed and interest in the Envelope Punch Board after the demonstration, you will find this site a lot of fun. It will allow you to add the measurements of your card and create an envelope to fit!

If you'd like to attend the next one, it will be on October 17 at noon. You can RSVP by going to my SU! website ( and clicking on events.

Hiawatha Trail Pictures, Finally

Okay, think I figured out my problem with doesn't like Microsoft Edge and since I updated to Windows 10, Blogger hates me! Although I did try to upload these pics with Mozilla Firefox as well and it was a no go. Blogger seems to only like Internet Explorer. I haven't tried Google Chrome.
Anyway, for those who don't have FB, these are some of the pics from out trip along the Trail of the Hiawatha. It was a wonderful bicycle trip that hubby and I went on with neighbors on Friday. Hope you enjoy!
Waterfall at the trail head

3000 foot tunnel (dark & cold) but interesting
One of the many train trestles on the trail

Another trestle

We made it to the end
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope that you have enjoyed your summer and are now getting ready for all that Fall has to offer. Until next time....HAPPY STAMPING!

Hiawatha Trail

On Friday, hubby and I took a 16 mile bicycle ride with some of our neighbors. It was a beautiful ride along what is know as the Trail of the Hiawatha. No, not the Indian, but an old rail line. It was so fun and interesting and beautiful. I wanted to share the pics with you, but Blogger is still being persnickety (at least for me), so I have shared the pics on my CYRious Stampers FB page. You can go here to see the pics. Hope you enjoy. Until next time....HAPPY STAMPING!

Birthday Card Pics

Okay peeps....I will probably be going to a new platform for my blog come October 1. I haven't been able to add pics to my blog for at least 4 days! So that you can see the Birthday cards that I made for September birthdays, I have added the links to my Pinterest board where they live.  I know it's an extra step, but at this point, it's the only way I can get the pics to you. Sorry.
This one is the pic I made for our 13 y/o grandson. The background is the retired resist paper. Currently there is the Color Me Irresistible Specialty Paper on page 142, that also has the stripes. The stamp set is from the last Sale-a-Bration, Big Day
This is the one I made for a dear friend here in Idaho. It also uses the retired resist paper and the Hostess Happy Birthday Everyone. The flowers are from Petite Petals and I used the Candy Dots for the centers.
This one is for a dear friend in Washington. I used the Little Letters dies to cut out the HAPPY from DSP and then used the Triple Banner Punch to cut the flags. The word Birthday is also from the Hostess Set, Happy Birthday Everyone.

Thanks for stopping by today. Sorry again for the 'extra step' to see the cards, I promised, but this was the only 'work around' I could find to fix this serious Blogger problem. Hope you all add a wonderful weekend. Stay tuned next week to see how I spent my Friday!

Until next time....HAPPY STAMPING!

September Birthday Cards

Today, I want to share cards that I made to celebrate September birthdays. One is for our grandson and the other 2 are for dear friends/customers.

Well...there is definitely something wrong with Blogger as I can't get the pictures to load into this post no matter what I do. I have 'complained' to Blogger twice in the past 4 hours, but I'm still having problems. If this keeps up, I may have to change blog platforms. I will keep you all posted.

When/if I can insert the pictures, I will attempt to edit this post and insert them for you to see.

Make & Takes

These are the two cards that we made with our M&T package:
Mint Macaron & Whisper White card stock, vellum, glimmer paper, baker's twine and new 1/8" ribbon, 2" circle punch.
New cord trim, sequin trim and envelope paper/envelope punch board. Whisper white & Watermelon Wonder card stock.

Both were made with the stamp set Your Presents, but as you can see, they don't just make Christmas cards. The second one is a birthday card. The happy birthday is from Age Awareness in the Annual Catalog. They also both use the new Archival Basic Black Ink Pad. It is so AWESOME!  So crisp and clean and SMUDGELESS!

Loot from Convention

This is a picture of what I received at convention:
The bag is felt and my all time favorite of the ones I've received at conventions. The stamp set in front (from the new Holiday Catalog) is called Your Presents and was used for our Make & Takes (more on that in a later post). The stamp set in the back is a Host Set from the Holiday Catalog called Six Sayings. Along with that I received the Ornate Tag Topper Punch as part of Prize Patrol. The stamp pad on the right in front is the new Basic Black (an all attendee give away). TA-DA..It's Archival (so you can safely use it in all your scrapbooking) and it's the most beautiful black!!!!!!! When you see my M&Ts, you will see what a clean, crisp NON-SMEARING impression it makes (even on Whisper White card stock). AND, it's waterproof!!!! The Designer Series Paper in the center is called Season of Cheer and was an all attendee give away.

Convention 2015

Hi All...I am back from convention, but still not hitting on all cylinders just yet. I will be posting pix from the event as of the swaps I received over the next couple of weeks. Wouldn't you know it, another friend has called and said he is coming to visit next week, so need to get the guest room ready! I have some great news about Paper Pumpkin, though:

And...I got to see a sneak peek of the August and September kits....YUMMY! I signed up at convention to get the next 2 months at half price! (hint: If you've signed up in the past and cancelled, you will need to generate a new email addy to take advantage of the 50% off, since it's for NEW subscribers).

Well, thanks for stopping by today....keep checking back over the next couple of weeks for the pix I promised. Until then...HAPPY STAMPING!

It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

No, not the holidays...don't even want to THINK about that yet! I'm talking about the annual Stampin' Up! convention.

I can't believe that it's been so long since I posted. This has been a busy summer here in the 'sticks' so far. We had DH's brother and sister-in-law here TWICE! It was great to see them both times and wish that they could have stayed a while longer. Then our BFFs from the East Coast were here for about a week...we hadn't seen them in a long time and thoroughly enjoyed their visit, albeit shorter than I would have liked. While they were here we had a 4th of July BBQ with some of our neighbors. It was unbearably hot that day, but we all survived and enjoyed the day.

So, now I am running around like the proverbial chicken trying to get ready to head to Salt Lake City. I have swaps to complete, gifts to make for my friends and just making sure that I don't forget to pack something!  I will be leaving on Wed. (22nd) and returning on Sun. (26th). It's going to be a whirlwind 4 days of meeting old friends, making new ones and getting a sneak peek at upcoming Stampin' Up! product!

I will try to post some things (as permitted) from the convention, but if I can't, then look for an update sometime the week of the 27th, once I've sufficiently recovered from all the fun and madness! Thanks for stopping by today. Until next time....HAPPY STAMPING!

More Sneaky Peeks

I've been spending some time with my new 'toys'. Well, with the first batch of my new toys. I got all the new In Colors and had to play with them. The following is the result.
Granted, this pic isn't the greatest. But, these use (from left to right) Tip Top Taupe, Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon, Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron. I used the stamp sets Build a Birthday, Perpetual Birthday Calendar and the hostess set Happy Birthday Everyone.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Until next time...HAPPY STAMPING!

Another Sneek Peek

Well, here we go again.  New catty time.  Oh and all the neat new stuff.  So, I've been playing with some of my new toys and I thought I would share it with you.

I think I am falling in love with the Tip Top Taupe, it's fun to say and easy to use.

I love punches, and here I got to use two different one's - the Label Bracket Punch and our brand new Banner Triple punch.  The words are from Sassy Salutations.
And the fun continues with a matching envelope made with our new Envelope Paper and the Envelope Punch Board.  This paper is sooo easy to make envelopes with, and the ability to coordinate it with our card stock makes for an elegant ensemble.

Now won't this make you feel better.

Hope you enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed making it.
Happy Stamping, Diane

Have a save holiday.

New Catalog Information

Stampin' Up! announced that pricing will change with the new 2015-2016 catalog. Most items have been rounded up to whole dollar amounts. (i.e. card stock packages that were $6.95 and are now $7.00). There were some decreases, most notable the embossing folders. They were $7.95 and are now $7.50).  The price changes (aside from a business decision for SU!) were made to make it easier to determine Host Rewards with the new catalog.

The new catalog brings new Host Rewards. They are now called Stampin' Rewards and are based on a percentage of your party's sales (without tax/shipping). For example: if your party total is $150, you will receive $15 in Stampin' Rewards (or 10%). If your party total is up to $299 you will still receive 10%. Once your party totals $300 your Stampin' Rewards jump to 12% or $36.00. Here is the new Stampin' Rewards table:

The sales periods for the 2014-2015 annual catalog, the 2015 occasions catalog, and the 2015-2016 annual catalog will overlap on June 2. Please note the following about the transition day of June 2:

  • All carryover items from the 2014-2015 annual catalog and 2015 occasions catalog will keep their 2014-2015 prices on June 2, while brand-new items in the 2015-2016 annual catalog will follow the 2015-2016 printed price. Beginning 3 June, all 2015-2016 pricing will take effect.
  • Current host program benefits will remain in effect on June 2. Beginning June 3, all new host benefits (Stampin' Rewards) will take effect.
  • On June 2, hosts may choose host items from the 2014-2015 annual catalog, the 2015 occasions catalog, or the 2015-2016 annual catalog.
  • Beginning June 3, hosts will no longer be able to choose host items from the 2014-2015 annual catalog or the 2015 occasions catalog, and the new Stampin' Rewards program will begin.
Thank you for stopping by today. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me. Until next time...Happy Stamping!
