Wood You Be Mine?

Over the next 6 days I will be posting projects featuring new Occasions and Sale-a-Bration products. Because I live in the 'sticks', this is my first offering. I won this set watching the live stream of the Catalog Kickoff. I thought it was so apropos since hubby is always out 'clearing' the property and cutting/stacking firewood to get us through the winter.

This card uses the Wood You Be Mine stamp set (pg. 7 of the Occasions catalog). But, it also uses the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Pack (pg. 40 of the Occasions catalog) and the Hardwood stamp set (pg.175 of the Annual Catalog). The card base is Early Espresso, the Hardwood layer is Early Espresso ink on Very Vanilla. The Adventure Bound piece is cut with the Banners Framelits, as is the Very Vanilla piece with the sentiment stamped in Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler. The Lumberjack is popped up with dimensionals. Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to leave a comment to be entered in the drawing (see yesterday's post for details). Until tomorrow...Happy Stamping!

Sneak Peeks Are Coming

I hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday! Starting tomorrow, I will be posting 'sneak peeks' of product from the Occasions Catalog as well as the Sale-a-Bration brochure. During these 6 days, if you comment on every post, your name will go into a drawing to win a gift from me. I will let you know what the gift is on the day the catalogs go live (January 6).  So, be sure to stop by each of the next 6 days and leave a comment on the projects that I post. Good Luck to everyone. Until next time...Happy Stamping!

Let it Snow

It snowed here in N. Idaho most of the day yesterday! I checked this morning and it looks like we got a little over 5 inches. Guess Hubby will get to use his new snow blower after all! Yay!! Isn't it beautiful? It's going to stick around awhile, too as the temps this coming week are only going to be in the low 20s or high teens!
This is looking down the drive way.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! Today I wanted to share our tree decorated with 'handmade' ornaments. The angel isn't hand made, but the rest of the ornaments are from past SU! ornament kits or are the wooden ornaments that I made this year. Since it was just the 2 of us this year, we put up the small tree and I love it!  I hope everyone has a very MERRY CHRISTMAS or HAPPY HANNUKAH! Thanks for stopping by today. Until next time...Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Nicolas

Our middle grandson turned 13 on December 2. How time flies! This is the card that I made for him.
I used the retired stamp set Classic Convertibles and Endless Birthday Wishes. The 'Vette is stamped on Whisper White and colored with Cherry Cobbler Blendies. That layer is adhered to Basic Black, which is inserted into the Silver Foil layer embossed with the Chevron embossing folder. Then it's all adhered to another layer of Basic Black, then onto the Real Red card base. (Whew! that was a lot of layers!).  Thank you for stopping by today.  Until the next time...Happy Stamping!

More Northwoods Items

These ornaments are made with the same wood discs that hubby cut for the snowmen that are in this post. I used StazOn ink to stamp the figures. The wolf is from the retired set Nature's Silhouettes (I also made some with the buck from that set, but neglected to get any pictures). The small deer is from the retired set Joyous Christmas.
These are tag that I made using the Nature's Silhouette set. They are stamped with StazOn onto the retired wood sheets, then adhered to a scallop cut with the retired Scallops #2 die. I hope that you enjoyed a look at North Idaho crafting for Christmas. Stop tomorrow for a look at the birthday card I made my 13 year old grandson. Until then...Happy Stamping!

North Idaho Snowmen

Now that my upline has had her holiday party, I can share the gift I sent for her and my downline.
I made these cute little Snowmen from a tree that hubby cut down earlier this year. The had and scarf are just red felt. The decoration on the hat and scarf are die cut. The eyes and buttons are rhinestones colored black. The nose is cut from the Pennant Punch and then cut down. I hope that they enjoyed receiving them as much as I enjoyed making them. (the other 2 snowmen are for my tree!).

November 'Extras'

These are some of the 'extras' from the Shoebox Swap.
This is a cute little box that Jen designed and brought for everyone. Below is what was inside! Thanks, Jen!

The above card was an 'extra' that Dawn brought for all of us. I love the design and the colors. Now I may have to purchase the All is Calm DSP. I was trying to not buy more DSP to 'hoard'! Thanks, Dawn.
The above card was an 'extra' that Jen brought for all of us. Love, love, love that it is so 'cheerful'. Thanks Jen for designing and bringing this wonderful card.

November Swaps

Sorry it took me so long to get the cards from our monthly swap posted. I have been extremely busy with some fun Holiday crafting! I won't be posting the results of that crafting until after Christmas, so I hope that the wait is worth it.

The following cards were designed by the ladies that come to my monthly Shoebox Swap. This month we did Christmas cards. They were all lovely, even though some of them used retired stamps (I know I have a ton of retired Holiday stamp sets, so maybe you'll be inspired to dust off those older stamps).

November Shoebox Swap

Today I am sharing the gifts I made for my Shoebox Gals. These ladies are here every month (during the good weather) and we do a shoebox swap. It is so much fun for me (and I hope for them) to get together with other 'like minded' ladies!
These little cuties are made with the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlit. I found the directions for this on the Create with Connie & Mary website. You can go there and download the instructions, if you'd like. My letters were cut with the Little Letters Framelits and I used different ribbons. The boxes and the carrier are made with the Under the Tree Specialty Designer Paper.  I also made a tag using the Chalk Talk Framelits and the stamp from Merry Little Christmas (from last year). I filled the little boxes with M&Ms (who doesn't need chocolate to stamp?).

I hope that the ladies like them as much as I liked putting them together. They were so much fun to make and I think they make a great presentation!

Thanks for stopping by today. Check back in a day or so to see the beautiful Christmas cards we made at the shoebox swap!  Until the next time...Happy Stamping!

Neighbor Gifts

Today I thought I'd share the  holiday gifts I made for our neighbors (they won't see this).

We went to a local farm and picked apples (40# of them!). So, I made crock pot applesauce and apple butter for our neighbors. I packaged them in craft colored handle bags that I stamped with the Scentsational stamp set (I still use that set a lot, even though it's retired). The labels were printed from MDS and then punched with the Oval Punch and the Scallop Oval Punch. I hope they enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them!

Thanks for  stopping by today. Until the next time...Happy Stamping!

World Card Making Day

Had a wonderful World Card Making Day, yesterday. I had 4 ladies here stamping away. I CASEd 6 cards from the current catalogs and they made 2 of each.

I let the ladies know that CASEing from the catalogs is a great way to find inspiration. I even got a couple of small orders to take advantage of the stock up sale going on until Monday.

It was a great day! But, I was definitely pooped at the end! With all the apples I had, I made a yummy apple cake for snack that we enjoyed between the 2 sets of cards we made. Thank you Ladies for making my World Card Making Day special!

Thanks for stopping by today. Until next time...Happy Stamping!

Apple Pickiing Time!

Hubby and I went to the apple orchard over in Washington state the other day. We picked 40 pounds of apples! It was a lot of fun. We got MacIntosh, Jonathan and one called Spartan that I'd never heard of. So, I'm in the process of making EVERYTHING apple!
I have made 12 jars of homemade applesauce! Took 4 pounds of apples to make 3 pint jars! So, guess I didn't get too many apples as these will be neighbor gifts for the holidays. I will also make some 1/2 pint jars of apple butter! YUM!

Thanks for stopping by and indulging my personal accomplishment. Until next time....

Happy Stamping!

Holiday Inspiration

I was so inspired by my friend Dawn and some of her projects at the retreat last weekend, that I came home and started crafting in earnest!

In a full size wood mount case I put 6 cards...2 each of 3 designs (including envelopes). The space on the right is for some Hershey nuggets. I used it as a drawing gift at my Shoebox Swap.

I then took a clear mount case and filled it with tags! There are 6 of the 3 X 3s and 6 of the long tags. These I'm going to try to sell at a local boutique.

Thanks for stopping by today. Until next time...Happy Stamping!

Uniquely Yours Retreat

Well, I think I have sufficiently recovered from the Uniquely Yours Retreat at the Palouse Divide Lodge to tell you a little about it. It was sponsored by my friend, Dawn and it was FABULOUS! Great job, Dawn! She is planning another one in early Spring and I am planning to attend. I was working on Christmas cards and got the fronts all finished, but still need to finish the insides.

Such a great weekend and we didn't have to cook! We were provided a beautiful breakfast and dinner each day of the retreat! Lunch was on our own, but everyone brought snacks to share with the group, so I don't think anyone missed 'lunch'.

Accordian Screen Card

As promised, this is my first attempt at making one of these new cards that are all over the web. I want to thank Dawn Oleschefske for the wonderful video tutorial that you can find on her blog.
The base of the card is basic black, the mats are Melon Mambo. The images on the panels are from the retired set Elements of Style. They are stamped in Mossy Meadow. The flowers are Melon Mambo and I think Pretty in Pink (it was a scrap), punched from Petite Petals and the retired Itty Bitty Punch Pack. The centers are colored rhinestones from my stash. The top is punched with the retired Scalloped Eyelet border punch. These are so much fun and so easy to make that I'm sure there will be more my future! Thanks again Dawn for the tutorial!

Thanks for stopping by today. Until next time...Happy Stamping!

Mambo Birthdays

Hi Everyone. I was working in my stamp room and saw this sheet of Melon Mambo card stock. Since I had a couple of birthday cards to make...this is what I came up with.
The base of this card is Naturals White. I much prefer it when using White as my base. Whisper White is my go to for layers, but doesn't seem to hold up to having layers added to it. The DSP layer is from the Sweet Taffy. I also used the White Organza ribbon. Behind the Sweet Taffy is that Melon Mambo card stock. The image is stamped on a layer that I die cut from the Deco Layers. Not sure where I got the image, but it's retired. The image layer is adhered with dimensionals. Used pearls for the centers of the flowers (they are colored with Daffodil Delight Blendabilities).
This is the other half of that Melon Mambo card stock. The white layer is embossed with the new Filigree embossing folder from the Holiday catalog. The image is a non-SU! image that was stamped in Memento Ink then colored with Melon Mambo Blendabilities (as were the pearls), I then used Wink of Stella for the 'glitz'. The image was then fussy cut and mounted on the black piece with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by today. Tomorrow I will show you my first attempt at those 'screen cards' that are all the rage now. Until next time...Happy Stamping!

Weekend Retreat

I am scheduled to attend a weekend Craft Retreat starting Thurs., but I've been trying to fight off a cold since Friday. Not sure whether I'm winning or the cold is. But, if I do attend this retreat...look for some pictures of all the fun we'll be having next week!

A friend of mine is sponsoring this retreat in the mountains. This is the Palouse Divide Lodge, where we will be. Fortunately there is no snow on the ground now! Looking forward to a great time with about 20 other people just crafting away in the quiet of the mountains!

Happy Birthday!

This is a clean and simple Birthday card for our grandson. He's going to be 12 (awkward age for boys birthday cards...too old for kids cards, not old enough for man cards).
This card base is Pacific Point. I used an embossing folder from my stash and inked it up with Pacific Point ink and embossed on a Whisper White layer. I used the Banner Framelits and the Make a Wish from the Perfect Pennants set. I used Pacific Point and Real Red ink. I then added the line of Basic Pearls colored with a red Sharpie.

Thanks for stopping by today. Check back soon for more inspiration. Until then...Happy Stamping!

Busy in the Stamp Room

I have been spending some time in the stamp room (weather is too bad to go outside). I CASED a card from the Holiday catalog using the Wondrous Wreath bundle. I used two different reds (Real Red - left and Cherry Cobbler - right). Which do you like best?
The base card in both is Mossy Meadow. The banners are cut from the Banner Framelits. I used some silver ribbon on the Real Red one, but not on the Cherry Cobbler one. The background stamping is done with Gorgeous Grunge. The wreath uses Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizzazz. Real Red for the berries on the left one and Cherry Cobbler for the berries on the right one. Joy is cut from the silver foil paper.

This is another card made using the Wondrous Wreath bundle. I like the clean and simple look of this one.
The base card is Garden Green, the next layer is Real Red.. The wreath uses Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz and Real Red. The ribbon is the new 3/8" Woven Satin Ribbon. The embossed layer uses Snowburst (retired) embossing folder. The verse is from Endless Wishes and cut with the banner from the Circle Card Framelit.

Hope you have enjoyed these cards and have received some inspiration. Check back soon for some more inspiration. Until the next time....Happy Stamping!

Sneak Peek - For All Things

This card was inspired by Melissa Banbury, a Canadian demo who was featured in our September/October Stampin' Success magazine (a magazine that demos receive every other month). Melissa used different colors and hers was more detailed, but I'm happy with how my 'simple' version turned out.
All stamps are from the For All Things stamp set. I used a Cajun Craze base with a Hello Honey layer. I stamped the leaves in Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey and Mossy Meadow. I fussy cut them, then crumpled them, as Melissa did. I used the 'swipe' from the set in Mossy Meadow and stamped off before stamping on the Very Vanilla layer. I used the Mossy Meadow marker to stamp the Hello Fall!, so that I could stack the sentiment. I attached the leaves with Dimensionals.

I hope this has inspired you and gets you all thinking about fall and cooler weather. I know that here in North Idaho we're looking forward to something other than 90s!

That's all the Sneak Peeks for this week. Stay tuned...more will be coming. Until then...

Happy Stamping!

Sneak Peak - Filigree Frame

Today's Sneak Peak is the Filigree Frame TIEF (pg 15). And, the Endless Wishes (pg 32) stamp set.
I know these aren't traditional Christmas colors, but they were what were on my stamp desk. The card base is Crumb Cake, the embossed layer is Soft Sky. I stamped the little snowflake from the set is both colors then added the banner, cut from the Banners Framelits (pg 231 of the Annual Catalog).

Check back again later in the week to see if I've had any more inspiration from my pre-order of Holiday Catalog items. Until then....Happy Stamping!

Wondrous Wreath - Sneak Peek

I just LOVE this set. The minute I saw it, I didn't think Christmas, I thought Fall! Along with the Wreath Framelits, (pg 9) it's super easy to create any kind of wreath you want. And, they are available as a bundle, so it is truly Wondrous!
I used Crumb Cake card stock and stamped Hardwood (pg 175 of the Annual Catalog) in Baked Brown Sugar. The wreath is Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry with Blackberry Bliss berries. I stamped the hanging ribbon from the set in Blackberry Bliss and then added the bow made from the Blackberry Bliss Stitched Satin ribbon (pg 207 of the Annual Catalog).

Check back tomorrow for another Sneak Peak. Until then....Happy Stamping!

Beauty of the Season

Here's another sneak peek...Beauty of the Season. (pg 26)
Don't know what happened with this pic, but the card stock is Soft Sky. (looks more like the retired Blissful Blue). I colored the image with my Blendabilities. Used the Label Framelits to cut out the opening and then sponged around the verse in Real Red. That ribbon is the new 3/8" Satin Woven Ribbon (pg 15)

Check back tomorrow for another sneak peek. Until then....Happy Stamping!

For All Things Sneak Peek

This is the first of the sneak peeks of the Holiday Catalog. I'm not sure exactly how I feel about this one. I just never thought of Blackberry Bliss as being a fall color. I think of reds, oranges, browns, but not purples!
The card base is Mossy Meadow. The DSP layer is from the Color Me Autumn. The next layer is Hello Honey. I used the For All Things stamp set for the images. Hello Fall is stamped in Cajun Craze. The leaves are stamped in Blackberry Bliss and the background image is Soft Suede. (I tried to use only the colors in the DSP pack). I finished it off with some Linen Thread and a Basic Pearl colored with a Sharpie.

Check back tomorrow for the next Sneak Peek. Thanks for stopping by today. Until next time...Happy Stamping!

Summer Birthdays

Today I thought I'd share a couple of birthday cards that I have been working on. These are for some birthdays coming up this month.

On this first one I used the stamp set I Like You and my Blendabilities. I even added a little Wink of Stella from my stash to give it some 'shine'. The sentiment is from Endless Birthday Wishes.
This card uses the new Little Letters Framelits to cut the Happy Birthday. The designer paper is from SAB (last year, I think). The dots and the 'wishes' is also from Endless Birthday Wishes. I added Wink of Stella to the letters, too. Love the subtle shine!

I hope you are all looking forward to the Holiday catalog. It will go live on August 28 (that way if there are any issues, they won't happen over the holiday weekend).  If you would like a 'hard copy' of the Holiday catalog, leave a comment and I will get in touch with you to send you one, when I can.

Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Stamping!
