Open House

Had my Occasions Mini and SAB Open House last week and these are the cards the guests got to make:

This is a Marina Mist base with Not Quite Navy mats on the image piece and the verse piece. The words, the cup cake bottom, the sprinkles and the candle were stamped in NQN. The frosting and the candle flame were done with Marina Mist. I used the 1/8" Marina Mist ribbon. I just loved the way the 'sprinkles' kind of made a frame on the card front.

Next, we used the 2-Step Owl Punch and made this card, using Old Olive for the card base, Cherry Cobbler for the mat (punched with the Scallop Trim punch). The owl was stamped using Old Olive ink on Very Vanilla card stock and the 'friend' circle was stamped in Cherry Cobbler also on Very Vanilla  and punched with the 1 inch circle punch. We finished it off with Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by today. Check back tomorrow, as I have been having some fun using the Inlaid Technique and will be sharing those cards tomorrow.

Silhouette Sentiments

I guess I was in a Silhouette Sentiments mood, today. I made this first card for my upline's 13 year anniversary as a demo. Yay! Maureen!
I used a Rose Red card base, used a Vintage Springtime DSP (available in the Occasions Mini) layer (scalloped the top and bottom edge), then stamped 2 of the 3 flowers in the set and punched with the small oval punch, layered on Rose Red scalloped oval. Then stamped the Congrats and also punched with the small oval and the scalloped oval. Finished it off with some of the Rose Red seam binding (available in the Occasions Mini).

This next card is one I made to send to my great downline who created a wonderful birthday celebration for me at our last meeting. Thanks guys for the gifts, the cake and the fun!
This is a Melon Mambo Textured base, the DSP is from the Sweet Stitches package (in the Occasions Mini). The bird image and the Thank You are also from Silhouette Sentiments. The Wild Wasabi stitched ribbon is retired, but needed it for an embellishment. Thanks for stopping by today!

Build A Blossom

This is my first attempt at using the Build A Blossom stamp set and the Blossom Petals punch from the Occasions Mini catalog. This is a birthday card for my Granddaughter.

I used Rose Red card stock for the base. Stamped the petals of the flower in Pretty in Pink and then in Rose Red. For the leaves, I used Certainly Celeery and Old Olive. I then used a large paintbrush to curl both the petals and the leaves and attached it all together with glue dots. I added a button from the Springtime Vintage collection. Used Happy Birthday from the Create a Cupcake stamp set and punched it out with the Word Window punch.

If you would like to purchase any of these items or learn how to make this card, contact me at calstamper@aol.com. Thanks for stopping by today.

January Swaps

Last night was the January meeting of the CYRious Stampers. Pat set the parameters of the swap and her only requirement this month was to use new Designer Series Paper (from the Occasions Mini) on your card.

This was Pat's card. She used Not Quite Navy card stock and Botanical Gazette for the DSP. It doesn't show well in the scan but it's honeycomb. So, she also used the Just Buzzin' By stamp set. Cute, eh?

This was Diane's card. She used the First Edition DSP for the flower on this card. She also used Very Vanilla card stock for her base, Basic Black card stock for the Square Lattice embossed layer. Very Vanilla 5/8" Grosgrain ribbon and a Basic Black flower brad for the center of her flower. She added a small metal edged tag with the sentiment. Very nice job Diane!

This was my swap card. It's a Baja Breeze base with a piece of DSP from the Springtime Vintage package. I used the Scallop Trim punch on one edge and tied it with Night of Navy 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon. I used the 2-step Bird punch and used Old Olive for the branch, Night of Navy for the bird body and Baja Breeze for the wing. I finished off with one of the Basic Pearls for the eye. The sentiment is from Curvy Verses.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget about the Blog Candy give-away. Check the previous post for the details.
