'Host' Gift

I'm having a workshop on Saturday with a 'host' vs. a 'hostess'. I was kind of at a loss for a 'host' gift. But, finally decided to do a name frame. Hope that he likes it.

April Card Challenge

Hello Everyone,
Here's Jeri's adorable chick.... is this the cutest thing you've seen or what??

April Swap Cards

For our April swap, Shelly's challenge was to use only punches (no stamping) and to use only Summer Sun, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie and Very Vanilla. As you will see, Shelly broke her own rule by using the felt leaves on her flowers. Here are the items:

This is Shelly's: Gotta love the sponging on the scallops!

This is Pat's: Love the brad for the eye, and getting the corners right with the punch!

This is Diane's: Gotta love butterflies!

This is Denise's: She surprised us with calendar's instead of a card!

Unfortunately, I didn't get a scan of mine. I had an extra, but Diane brought a friend to our meeting (hi Chris) and so my extra one went to her. Maybe one of the girls will take pity on me and upload my 'little chickies'.

Pat won the Business Challenge this month, which was provided by Denise. We each had to make a card that showed our particular 'style' and upload it here to the blog. Everyone that completed the challenge got a ticket in the drawing. Pat ended up with 2 tickets because she was the first one to upload! Way to go Pat. This is the prize that she received:

It was made with Tote-ally Tess & Full of Life
stamp sets & Totally Modern DSP. The frame
is from Bed, Bath & Beyond. It was inspired
by a similar project I saw on Stampin' Connection
by Donna Rogers.

Business Challenge

Isn't it funny how the person who assigned the challenge is always the last to complete it??
My name is Denise and my stamping style includes color and dimension - I love to stamp and cut or punch out images to layer onto the front of my cards. This is one of my favorite cards that I demonstrated at a stamp class a few months ago. The materials I used include: Petal Pizzazz stamp set; Old Olive and Whisper White cardstock; Old Olive, Cameo Coral, and Ruby Red stamp pads; two large half pearls from the Pretties Kit; Scallop Circle and Eyelet Border punches. (My bad.... I forget the name of the DSP paper I used!)

Business Challenge

As you know our Business Challenge this month is to post an item that reflects our individual style. I tend to follow the K.I.S.S (Keep It Simple Stamper) method of creating. A little drama and a lot of fun.

I used the Inspired by Nature stamp set, Chocolate Chip card stock, ink, and ribbon. Also used Whisper White card stock and large brad (yes, that is white not vanilla).

Cirque de Simi

These are pictures of our booth at the community event on April 17, Cirque de Simi.

This is a straight on shot of our 12 X 12 booth. The front table was for the Make & Takes.

This is the shot of the Big Shot Demonstration area that Denise & Diane provided.

This is a shot of some displays and the class/events sign up area.

This event was a HUGE success. We were very pleased with the turn out and we received lots of potential customer/recruit information. Being our first group event, we feel it is definitely an event that we would like to participate in again.

Cirque de Simi

I just have to say that my group of stampers are THE BEST. We sponsored a booth at a community event yesterday and it was FABULOUS! Lots of people stopped to watch our Big Shot demonstrations, lots of people stopped to do our Make & Take and even more people filled out our Door Prize forms! It was a very successful day both for our group and for the City!!!!! I will be posting pictures of our booth later in the week. Please be sure to stop and take a look! THANK YOU CYRIOUS STAMPERS!!!
