Christmas Cards

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! Today, I'd like to share the handmade cards we received this year. Not all are SU! only, but wanted to share with you how creative our friends are. Here are the cards along with the creator's name:

This is from my friend Johann Ham in Delaware. The scan doesn't show it, but this is an acetate card and just lovely IRL.
This is from my friend Betty Vogel. She is crazy about bears, so all of her cards have a bear on them somewhere.
This card is from my downline, Diane Belcher. She used the new waffle paper on this as the silver layer.

This is from my sideline Toni Heylek. The scan doesn't do it justice because of the button.

This was my card for the CYRious Stampers Holiday party. It's from my downline Pat Whitley.

This card is also from Pat Whitley, but it's the one she and hubby sent out this year.

This card is from my friend Sheri Hughes, who lives in Santa Maria.

This card is from my upline, Maureen Rauchfuss.

And, this card is from my Bestest Friend, Lorea Lacy who also lives in Delaware.

I hope that you enjoyed seeing these 'works of art' that came our way during the holidays. I think now is the time that I should be thinking about what I'm going to do for my Christmas cards next year and maybe I can get them out early for a change! Thanks for stopping by today. Don't forget to come back on January 3 for the New Year challenge and blog candy give-away!

CYRious Stampers Holiday Party

Last night was the CYRious Stampers Holiday Get-Together. We all went to TGI Fridays (gotta love the place...especially when the tables are already decked out for the holidays with the red/white striped tops)! To thank my downline for their friendship and contributions to our little group, I made them all a little something. I made them each a decorated glass block with holiday lights inside. I made them all a little different, yet the same. (of course I can't show them lit, as there wasn't an outlet near our table!).

This is a page I made in My Digital Studio showing the gifts.

Denise is a Barista at Starbucks (now that's the job to have!) and she brought us all a beautiful coffee mug and a package of the delicious Christmas Blend coffee! Thank you so much Denise!!!!!!

We also each brought a gift (craft related and not more than $20 in value), in a brown grocery sack and played a Right/Left game. It was so much fun. I forgot to get pics of the individual gifts (duh!). Pat received a craft organizer from Shelly. Shelly received a beautifully decorated recipe box from Diane. Diane received a framed piece of stamped art from me, Denise received a card keeper with lots of pre-made cards from Pat. I received the new buttons, a sampling of the Designer Series Paper and a sampling of the fabric from the new Occasions Mini from Denise. All the gifts were wonderful and very well received.

We had a wonderful time talking, eating and catching up with each other. I so appreciate my downline and I am certainly looking forward to what we can accomplish in the New Year. I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday Season and that New Year brings you all the things that you deserve!!!!!

November CYRious Stampers Meeting

We held our November meeting on Monday, and this is the VERY CUTE project that Pat showed us how to do:

This is a darling shadow box frame. We used the Newsprint DSP for the background, stamped with stamps from the Sense of Time set and the Sanded background stamp. Then we stamped the big clock with Chocolate Chip on Crumb Cake and layered it on Chocolate Chip card stock. The saying is stamped on Very Vanilla and layered onto Chocolate Chip. We were then able to add an embellishment (non-SU) that coordinates with the Cog Punch. Very cute, don't you think???? Thanks Pat, for a wonderful project!

These are the card swaps that we received. Denise came up with using a Joy Fold card and Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard and/or Early Espresso. Denise wasn't at the meeting, so we don't know what hers looks like.
Diane's card, she used the Joy Fold in the vertical and used the ribbon to hold it closed. Great Job!
Pat's card. She used the Joy Fold in the horizontal and used the square scallop to hold it closed. Great Job!
This is my card. I, too used it in the horizontal and used the cute little bird to hold mine closed.

Christmas Workshop

The following projects were done at my last workshop. The hostess wanted to do Christmas cards and I added the cute bag as an afterthought. By the way, the bag was the thing they liked the most! Go figure.

These items used the Candy Lane Specialty Designer Paper from the Holiday Mini, the Ornament Punch, the stamp set Delightful Decorations, Real Red 1/4 inch Grosgrain Ribbon, Real Red Satin Ribbon, Candy Lane Buttons, Rhinestones and some retired Silver cord. The card base is Baja Breeze and the bag is just a white lunch sack. (Please excuse the kitty hair on the bag, my Harley Kitty liked it, too!)

This card has a Cherry Cobbler base, uses the Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper, Linen Thread, 5/8 inch Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon, Very Vanilla Cardstock, the Scallop Border Punch, the stamp set Delightful Decorations and Pearls.

Hope you enjoyed these projects and will come back again soon to see more.

Goodbye Summer

This is a card that we did at my last workshop, before the end of the Summer Mini. I forgot to get a pic of the other card.
The card base is Crumb Cake, then a layer of Pumpkin Pie. The next layer is Island Oasis DSP. The mat is made with Crumb Cake and the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. The leaf is cut from the Island Oasis DSP and the flowers are from Tropical Party stamped in Tempting Turquoise and Rose Red and cut out. The Flip-Flops are a pattern I found online (sorry I don't remember from whose blog, but THANK YOU). The ribbon is the 1/8" taffeta in Daffodil Delight. The flowers are from the retired 3-Flower Punch and I added 'bling' with the new self adhesive rhinestones from the Holiday Mini.

If anyone wants the pattern for the flip-flops, leave me a comment with your email addy and I'll send it to you. Thanks for stopping by today!
